I love a beautiful manicure, but I must admit, I’ve never been one to go to the nail salon. In fact, I have had four professional manicures and pedicures in my entire life! Sure, I’ve done my nails before. But it never looks good. I’m not very talented and way too impatient. I finally decided to try some of those home nail kits. In this post, I will share a complete Ohora nail gel review.

Ohora Nail gel review
How to purchase the Ohora gel nails
For my first purchase, I decided to buy directly from the Ohora website, even though Amazon has a large inventory.
The primary reason for this decision is that Ohora will give you the required gel lamp for free with your first purchase. The lamp has a value of $20; I thought this was worth it. Ohora has a standard shipping fee of $7.99 for orders below $50.
From my experience, the orders arrive in about one week. I’ve since ordered a few packs directly from Amazon. The prices are about the same, but Prime orders arrive faster.
Lastly, purchasing directly from Ohara allows you to earn reward points that can be exchanged against products. It also gives you access to the newest products and trends.
If you’d like to try Ohora gel nails, you can use my link to receive a 15% discount at checkout. If the discount isn’t applied, copy and paste this code CATHERINE3257675 in the discount field.
Ohora currently ships to the US, Canada, and the UK.
How easy is the application of the gel nails
I am not a patient and detailed oriented person when it comes to beauty.
But, with this gel nail review, I am thrilled to report that these gel nails could not be any easier to install. In less than 30 minutes, you can get a professional-looking manicure!
Application steps:
- Remove any existing nail polish or gel nails.
- Clean your nails.
- Roughly trim your nails. (Pro tip: I like to use a nail clipper to cut the gel nail stickers. Therefore, I don’t completely trim my nails before the application).
- Size your nails to determine which stickers to use. This is simply a visual sizing. If you are in between sizes, choose the smaller sticker.
- Apply the gel nail stickers onto each finger nails. Don’t worry if you get it a little crocked. You can easily remove and reapply it if you mess up.
- Once the sticker is correctly in place, press down to make sure there are not bubbles.
- Use a nail clipper or file to remove the excess material and shape each nail.
- Cure the gel under the lamp.
- Voila!!!
How long do the Ohora gel nails last?
According to the website, the gel sticker nails can last up to two weeks. In my personal experience, they look great for about 9-10 days. After that time, I have seen some chipping happen.
However, I will admit that I’m someone who picks at them a lot. With that said, I think the value you get is tremendous! Even if you do your nails three times per month versus two salon manicures, you will save tons of money.
How much does it cost?
The manicure kits range in price from about $13.50 to $18.00 with some exceptions. Each box comes with 30 stickers of various sizes, 2 prep pads (alcohol wipes), 1 file, and 1 wooden stick.
Even if you redo your manicure 3 times each month, you might spend about $48 (a little more if you are paying for shipping). A gel manicure at the salon is easy $50 with tips, probably more at most salons.
You’ll also save on time, gas to get there, etc.
How do you remove the gel nails?
The gel nails are easy to remove. I do recommend that your purchase the easy peal remover from Ohora.
Use the provided wooden stick to gently lift the gel sticker close to the cuticles. Put a drop of the remover and repeat this step with each nail. With the wooden stick, continue to lift the sticker by moving the stick under the sticker. The sticker will come right off, usually in one piece.
You can use a bit more of the remover to remove any glue that could be stuck to your nail. It should take no more than 10 minutes to remove the gel stickers.
What about pedicures?
Ohora does offer pedicure kits as well. While I have not yet tried them (it’s winter here), I have a kit on hand that I plan to try soon. If my experience with the pedicure is different in any way, I will make sure to update this gel nail review article.
In conclusion
I used to be ashamed of my hands and nails. At the same time, I refused to pay steep nail salon prices. I’m so happy that I have found Ohora. I now always have a beautiful manicure. I hope this gel nail review has been helpful and that you will consider giving Ohora a try. If you do, make sure to use my discount code!
